Depends how much voltage you want to put into the memory (and if your BIOS allows it). At the minute the ASUS cards seem to do quite well, but:

There's no real point in upping the GPU memory unless you can see a tangable benefit. If you're using detailed textures with 2560x1440 screens for example. I'd suggest you take a benchmark of a game you play and see what happens when you go to 1400, 1500, 1600 on the memory. If the FPS stays flat, there's no point doing the memory - work on the core.
