Hi. Building an computer for my brother. He is going to use it at the tv, so he want an small case, about 30x30x30cm or so. The purpose is to web, watching high quality video, playing some simulators, I think its called realflight or something. Civilization 5, wow, etc.

Any who has some sugestions to cases in about that zize? Design is very important if the zize goes up, he want it to look good at the tv,hehe, personaly idk about design! Just had to say it! http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=650886 is this something I can use? What prosessor and gpu to choose? Is a8-3850 something perhaps?

Need help please,to mutch to choose from:D

well, you'll want mini-itx. look at lian-li or silverstone for cases. i realize you can't order from newegg, but i will use them as a reference for parts:

silverstone (slightly smaller and include PSU but are limited in drive bays and can only take a slim optical drive)
SG-06
SG-08

lian-li (larger, but have more drive bays and can accommodate more fans, a full size PSU, and a full size optical drive)
PCQ-11
PCQ-08 (i'm using this case now and love it)
PCQ-25

for parts recommendations, we need a budget. how much money do you have for the build? do you need just the tower or do you also need windows+peripherals (keyboard/mouse/headset/whatever)? do you have any parts you can reuse (HDD's, cd drives, etc)?

http://www.prisguide.no/ I use this and buy from the cheapest if serious enough. ps.no , multicom.no , DustinHome.no , pixmania.no etc .

Budget can be stretched to 5-6k nok.

ok, first, an APU system that fits the 4k nok budget:

462

plus 800 for the case and you're sitting at around 4100kr.

http://ps.no/ArtDtl.aspx?i=186408
http://ps.no/ArtDtl.aspx?i=227233

on the other end of the scale is an intel system:

521

plus 800 for the case and the total is about 5900kr.

http://ps.no/ArtDtl.aspx?i=186408
http://ps.no/ArtDtl.aspx?i=227233

these two systems are at the extremes of your budget. The first will be adequate and play most games at medium settings, while the second will play all games at least at medium and many at high settings. also, you'll notice that i used ps.no for all the parts. i couldn't get prisguide to work for some reason. i would bet you could save another 200 or more if you shop around a little bit for the best deals.

good luck thumb.gif

Great! I will talk to him later to day.
But the apu settup. About the cpu,is it possible to crossfire the integrated gpu whit an amd gpu later? I noticed that you choose an 450w ps, so that will have the power extra to an gpu?

Think I read something about crossfire LIano whit 5000 or 6000 amd series, getting not as good as for. ex 2x6570 but better than 1x6570.
Is this possbile?

But if I know my brother, he want intel, NOT amd. Personaly I choose amd over intell anytime biggrin.gif

yep, you can do "dual graphics" which is basically hybrid crossfire. the biggest card you can do it with is the 6670 i believe. it works out to a 10-20% performance gain over a 6670 by itself, or a 20-40% gain over a 3850 by itself.

if you can delay the build, you might want to wait for the Trinity cores. they will have better graphics performance.
