BF3 is pretty RAM intensive, still. - Page 6

the suppression is nuts, they'll re-correct it I think, also planes can really destroy tanks now, good for them - not for me smile.gif even with reactive armour..it's really risky to change a game sooo much when although not perfect it really changes the dynamics of a game. I'm still hooked though...what I dont get is I got 21/23 K/D ratio and my skill went down 100!!! I know ther eare other factors but that's too much!

Regarding the memory leak: there are obvioulsy some system configs where there is a ram leakage issue. I never see it go over 1.5Gb but I did notice slowdown when I only had 4Gb compared to 12, natural really but using more than 1.5 is probably down to indivuals machine configs. getting more ram may be the only answer in the short term but I'd talk to DICE on facebook, from experience that is the best way to alert them to a problem where EA just aren't worth talking to.

Because leaving it on the SSD/HDD would be even more of a bottlekneck, You do realise that right? if the entire games data is cached into the system ram, Then the gpu only needs to pull it from the system ram and dump it in the Vram, instead of pulling it from an SSD, or even slower HDD

People forget that Origin and a browser are required to play BF3, which adds a lot to the RAM. However, neither are required while actually playing. So if anyone has any issues, just close Origin. I've seen it use 1GB.

highest i've seen is about 1.8 GB exclusively for bf3.exe

It's not a 64 bit application or you'd need a 64 bit OS to run it. A 32 bit application can use up to 2GB under windows (unless it's Large Address Aware, which BF3 apparently is, where it can in theory use up to 4GB).

You're kidding me, right? Defregmenting RAM is pointless and just buzz-worthy "feature" that those PC tune up apps try to sell people on.

Why defrag RAM? As soon as you turn off the computer it's completely reset!

I didnt notice any memory leaks, prolly not as big of issue compared to release. Luckily, most of us have lots of ram due to the low cost with regards to 8gb kits and such.
