SLI Gtx 560ti

Thread Starter
Ive just purchased my 2nd GTX 560ti, the asus direct cu II.

Im planning on underclocking the cards to 850mhz core clocks and default memory speed to keep it cool.

Im just a little concerned about temps because ive been reading that the top card can get very hot 100+. Mostly because people have very little space in there case. I have the asus P8Z68-V pro and just from a rough measurement with my hand i can tell I have a fair bit of space between the blue and white PCI-E slot on my motherboard.

My case has 3 intake fans, 2 120mm xigmatek at the bottom and 1 140mm coolermaster fan at the front.
It has 2 140mm coolermaster exhaust fans at the top and 1 120mm exhaust at the back.
So 6 fans in total.

Does anyone have a similar setup to me and what do you think my temps will be around? aslong as i can keep below 85 on the top card im not bothered

I don't think you'll have a problem. You shouldn't need to underclock at all either. I've got two MSI 560 Ti's in a Fractal R3 (which is a case geared toward silence rather than cooling) and I've never had the top card get close to 80 degrees. Even during lengthy gaming sessions it stays in the low 70s. I've got my cards overclocked to 950MHz as well. The MSI cards obviously have different cooling than the ASUS, but I've heard very good things about the CU II.

I had 2 560 tis in a CM HAF 932 advanced and the top card(which was also the asus direct cu II) very rarely broke 80 degrees, and never got hotter than 82 degrees, and during gaming it was usually around 75-77 max, I think you will be fine, and that was with them both clocked at 950mhz@1.087volts
