EC1 eVo black - Page 20

just a quick feedback to my new Zowie EC2 eVo.

i had two zowie AMs before. old batch with mouse button problem, which i had to deal with.
new batch with fixed button problem.
i loved the sensor, great to play with, but i had another problem by accidently activating the sidebuttons while gaming.
i also had problems with the shape, even though its ambidextrous like other mice i loved (wmo,1.1,kinzu,kana,xai/sensei).
also mouse 1 & 2 were wayyy too stiff on the AM.

so now i have to say. all the problems i had to deal with are gone with the ec2 evo.
the shape is amazing, very comfi. but it could be a little bigger for my hands. (i had the old ec1 model which were TOO big)
full rubberized is fine for me, i dont sweat so much while playing. so no problems with that.
the sensor, just like with the AM, is just amazing. sooo easy to control. very very very very enjoyable.
the mouse buttons are way easier to click than the AM. but still very good to single click it, with a nice feedback (feeling & clicksound).
the position of the sidebuttons is very good. no chance to accidently activate them, like i had it on the AM. but easy to reach.
feed back of the sidebuttons is also fine.
now the more subjective points.
the wheel: hate it or love it. its the same like on the old ec models & the am. its loud, its hard to scroll & also hard to click.
but at least there is again, not much room to randomly scroll or click it.
i dont know if its just my model, but the lights which show the dpi step aren't so bright like on the old ones, which i personally prefer.
the mouse feet: i personally like a little bit of friction. its easier to control for me. the glides of the ec evo series glide very very very fast on a black onecoloured qck+.
need to get used to it.
the cable: thats a part of the mouse i dont really care about. never had any issues with any kind of mouse yet.
i stick every mouse cable to the side of my 2233rz at half height. so its hanging down. no problem so far.

if you have any questions, just let me know

Im still in debate with myself If should try this mouse.

Store here in sweden have 25% on all gaming stuff including the ec evo mouse.

2 things tell me no.

1 Zowie AM buttons were unusable for me, way way to hard.
2 The dpi is to high. I use 800 dpi 1000MAX in all my gaming and windows. 1150 is pushing it abit to high, might be very hard to get used to.
3. The lack of a "dpi toggle" is quite annoying, would prefer if i could easy swap between 450 and 1150 dpi.

1.The EC series are goes well combined with the HUMANO, actually better than 7N, in this specific case.
2.Just use 500CPI and http://www.users.on.net/~frankros/DPI-calc.php
3.Why should you? get used to 1dpi-step and thats it.
But its might be an issue for you since the dpi switcher is in the bottom.

500 dpi is way way to low for windows use.
And in games like sc2,dota2 etc where messing with sens slider screws up the movement.

So I wont use the 450dpi option, outside maybe CS1.6,quake if I play those and older games.

And yes the lack of dpi toggle button is abit annoying since I play older games sometimes and for those there is no sensitivity option or anything and its good to toggle to 400dpi in those.

The older EC was to hard aswell, but some report that the evo is lighter then older EC.

If 400 dpi was enough for me I would just use my WMO and not care about another mouse.

Do anyone here have EC1/EC2 or the new evo version that can give some feedback on the switches compared to other popular mice like Xai, G400/MX518 etc with omron.

I tried EC1 when it came out with omron and havent tried the huano on it.

Since I play a ton of dota, diablo3,sc2 the clicks must be light like omron.
TTC like on the kana is way to hard.

Zowie AM was horrible, but the buttons are lighter on EC as said by zowie themself due to construction/casing.

Absolutely. Euros pay $79 for this! Crazy if you think about it.
So I guess we pay more for the privilege to receive it earlier. thinking.gif
