what are safe temps? for cpu useing coretemp to read em is it safe for cpus temps to gets in 50 c range?
Just make sure temps are below 61c with core temp, and use prime95 for stable testing, give it a few good hours, and if you don't get an error you are good to go, if you get a sum out error, just increase the voltage by 0.00625, tell it doesn't occur anymore.

cool thats what i did but i read to keep the cpu temps under 45 c and well that seems to be impossible ty for all the advice
post #7 of 10
yeah 45 is excessive, just try to stay below 60 degree and make prime95 run for the night.

The 8120 is a freaking hot chip mine hits 50c on a blend with a H100 with fans in push pull.

Board wise, ud3 has the same 8+2 power phase design as ud5 and ud7. If you use a lot of vcore, just give some cold air flow to the VRM heatsink. It's smaller compared to ud5/7. Other than that, you're pretty fine.

Like stated before as long as you keep core temps under 60c it's whatever you want to be for 24/7.

I'm also using a GA-990FXA-UD3 with a FX-8120 and I keep mine anywhere between 4.66GHz and 4.78GHz..
Voltages will range with vdroop. I set my voltage for instance @ 1.4v for 4.66GHz and my sytem will idle at 1.31v and peak at 1.38v. At 4.78GHz I set let voltage @ 1.425v and it will idle at 1.34v and peak at 1.41v.
