Update with a few pics. Hopefully some numbers in the next week or so, then time to make a custom CPU water block for the non-ihs chip and possible graphene thermal solution. (thanx a lot Rognin, make me spend another small fortune) wink.gif

I set up an account with a supplier and gave them a lengthy email explaining some of my issues including clamping forces needed. I`m hoping to hear from them this week if they don`t think I am some sort of crackpot (not far from the truth) . If you ever hear of anyone that has totally fried a 3770k and might want to unload it for cheap give me a yell. Would like to use it for a little development work, no use wrecking my good one as they are too delicate.

Be very careful with your mounting method on the naked chip.

I cracked the core on a naked Winchester Opteron back in the day with my bracket modded XP-90 frown.gif. Thought I fried the chip since I was pushing voltages a bit far, but when I tore it down and pulled the HS I noticed a hairline crack on the die.

Very cool build BTW. I love my hacked together Arqtik TEC setup too. Bike is awesome as well. I've got a modded 07 zx6r that I am about to be selling to pick up the new beastly 14r. Can't wait to be able to ride more then an hour and not get a sore back and knee pains laughingsmiley.gif:.

Die is not cracked , block has been on it since May. Had initial problems with code 55 (not recognizing memory) had to remove block and chip, while it was out I checked MX4 and it was spread nicely so I just re-applied Tim and installed chip and block. BTW you have to remove the retention bracket to be able to put block directly on the chip itself unless you custom make a block. That will be my next project hopefully with some sort of Graphene composite Tim-type material, am waiting for a call back on some specs and engineering data from a supplier. Tec temps change a lot here in the summer, humidity goes from 35-75 % and was 73% yesterday which means the dew point is in the 18-20 degree range. The 14 will be awesome and a lot more comfortable, that`s why I have the Monster because the other Duc`s I own are like torture racks. I can relate to your aches and pains, I`m 55 and have had my knee replaced and have a stainless steel rod through femur (drunk cage driver).
