Need your opinion on these three headphones!

Im looking to buy a new pair of headphones and maybe make a o2 amp, what would you guys suggest for the sub $200 price range? I think i've narrowed it down to these:

Ultrasone HFI-780 S-Logic
Shure SRH840 Professional
Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional

State your budget: ~%150 - $200

State your music tastes: rap, rock, pop, dub step, acapella

State what perks are highly desirable (low impedance, heavy bass, excellent for gaming etc..): Bass, Crisp clarity

State what products you already have and are planning on using with your recommended item (state whether you have an amp if you're looking for headphones with high impedance for example):I might make an o2 to go with these.

State how you are going to use the item (e.g. out-and-about, at the gym, at home, PC / console, gaming, music etc). The more detail in this, the better.: For user with ipod, tablet, laptop

State where you live and offer some sites that are known for having good prices / being reputable so we can help recommend you products in your country's currency (like Amazon or ebay).: US, prefer amazon for Prime shipping

Thanks everyone! thumb.gif

How about the Ultrasone PRO550?

A soundcard would benefit you more than an amp.

I own a pair of ultrasone dj1 pros, which I hear are the same? I'm selling them since I don't like how they look, bit I appreciate the suggestion. Also, I have a laptop so no sound card for me frown.gif

audio technica ath-m50

you won't be dissappointed, seriously. try them without an amp/dac first and you'll see they're still amazing. you don't need to go on an audio gear binge until you've at least tried these.

how would the m50's compare to the ultrasone HFI 780's though?

The M50's. I prefer my Sennheiser HD280's because they have a flat soundstage. No extra base but are more studio monitors so they produce the sound close to how it was recorded.
