intel 520 for games exclusively - no OS

My new intel 520 120GB arrives this coming week; I bought it to move all games, steam (all about 40GB) from a Raid0 HDDs partition.
I will probably use Steam's utility to transfer some of the games.
Mobo (sig rig) is an x58 Asus Rampage 3 Formula with ICHR10 6xSata 2 and Marvell 2xSata 3 ports.

Win 7 is installed on a Raid0 3x 60GB intel 320 on ICHR10 - 20 GB on each intel 320 are 'unallocated'. The "Games" SSD, Intel 520, will be hooked to the Sata 3 Marvell controller. I already have backups for OS, games, whatever media files on 2x1TB Seagate Constellation ES HDDs - that is, I can mess up with the SSD's.

What I would need some input on is:
1. should I make a 20GB (or whatever size) "PageFile" partition on the Intel 520, 120 GB SSD? Wondering if someone had it working in this setup - Win7 on ICHR10, pagefile.sys on another controller of a higher speed.
2. page file size when in its own SSD partition (default OS controlled, fixed size, no page file) - 18GB RAM, but run Photoshop CS, 2xHD6850 CF. I am aware of the arguments around pagefile.sys size, but wondering if someone here had it setup the way I intend to do it.
3. should I just buy another 30GB cheap SSD for pagefile.sys alone - Sata2 or Sata3 on ICHR10 or on Marvell?
4. leave pagefile where it si now, OS managed on OS Raid0.
5. what benchmarking software would tell the performance difference for pagefile on this or that controller?

Thx for input smile.gif

Don't put the Intel 520 on the Marvell controller. Don't buy a separate drive for the page file. Don't make a 20GB partition for page file.

Leave the page file on the OS array and manually set it to 1-4GB.

Thank you for reply and advice.
Just found this on Intel forums:

"What you can try (if you use Windows 7) is changing from the Marvell driver to the native Windows 7 AHCI driver, msahci. You do that from Device Manager, by finding the Marvell chipset under Storage controllers. Choose the Driver tab, then Update driver, and Browse my computer for driver software, and finally Let me pick from a list... Find msahci in the list and follow the prompts until complete."

Seems Intel SSD Toolbox and Trim would work... and there's some 2GB/s speed gain using Marvell this way. Guess I'll give it a try.

Tried Marvell with 2 older/newer Marvell 9xxx, and MSAHCI; next, switched to ICH10R - better AS SSD total with higher writes vs poor reads:

552552552552

Intell SSD Toolbox does not read the Intel 520 120GB as an Intel SSD drive - somewhat funny.
Since there's no Trim (aside Win7's automatic SSD settings), I left 20GB unallocated; I like to keep my drives only 2/3 full anyways.
