Number of Bridge Connectors 6950 Crossfire

Thread Starter
I hope I'm not making another duplicate thread but I don't know how to word my question or how to search for it.

I currently have a Sapphire 6950 2gb and ordered a PowerColor 6950 2gb.

I have searched and many people are saying that brands don't matter so I think they should be ok.

However my Sapphire only has 1 spot for a bridge and the powercolor has spots for 2.
Will it matter that they don't have the same numbers and if I don't use 2? Also since I have never done crossfired cards is there anything that I'm going to need like patches/bios stuff or anything of that nature?

Thanks smile.gif

nope should be fine; the two sli bridges are for sli 3-way or four way if you are just keeping it to two you should be fine

for 2 cards one single bridge is all you need. sometimes 2 can cause issues.

It's not like you have a choice on the matter?

You have a Dirt card huh?

Those Dirt cards are luvverly thumb.gif I miss mine.

Some cards only have one connector, and this just basically limits you to standard 2-card crossfire. The extra connectors are for extra cards, in series.

Thanks for the replies. Now that I think about it yeah my question didn't make much sense but oh well tongue.gif

Yeah they work I have them connected with one because that's all I can and they work perfectly fine. thumb.gif

Thanks,
