Which camcorder for under £250?

Thread Starter
Can anyone recommend me a camcorder for under £250?

Ideally it will be good in low light, light weight and have a good battery life. Filming in 1080p would be nice too.

I was looking at the SD40, however the low light conditions don't seem great - the SD90 is much better however it is beyond my budget.

Video format needs to be something that can easily be editable in Windows and possibly Mac

We're taking it to New York so really want the best we can get.

honestly anything on B&H or amazon and set filter to $250 or less and 1080p and whatever has the most reviews check them out if you must. but just about every camcorder in that price range will perform more or less the same. some will do better than others. when you go bellow about $150 your looking at cheap low as it goes in quality unless you get the pocket size flip/kodak cameras.

because all those cameras have small sensors they will not have fantastic low light performance. there are good camcorders that handle low light very well but for the price you might as well jump up to a real video camera.

SD40 is a decent camera. just look at anything by panasonic, sony, or canon and you will be pretty good. i also suggest looking at canon refurbished on their website or used on B&H as you will get a better deal buying used over new wink.gif
