exceeding windows timeout limit openGL error

Thread Starter
im running an EVGA GTX 570 updated drives at 296.10 and using AB to overclock version 2.2.0 beta 15.

I use furmark as a stress testing program and once i start bumping up clocks to over 900mhz after around 5 minutes or so i get crashes with an error message 'exceeded windows timeout limit.'

google doesn't seem to provide much help except on specific issues with certain games or some lame explanation by microsoft/nvidia that is useless...

Is there a solution to this? :/

Thanks

Yes, there are more "solutions" to your problem:
1- don't OC to high or apply some more voltage with proper cooling thumb.gif
2- modify the TdrDelay from 2 sec. to 4-6 seconds (or whatever you like) within the registry; (easy but not really a solution IMO)
3- disable PowerMizer, link

I've only just started oc'ing with nvidia. i usually oc with AMD (they dont give meaningless little error messages, but rather BSOD and crash on me tongue.gif ). thats why i wasnt too sure.

Also thanks for that link. Really informative stuff smile.gif
