I've been reading a lot on both of these drives. I missed out on the $130 deal for the M4 because I hesitated too long (I had just bought OCZ Agility 3 120GB for 97AR). I currently have a Samsung 830 128GB on hold for $140 (for about 2 more days) until I decide which I should go with. Since I currently have an OCZ Agility 3, should I wait for the M4 to come back or go with the Samsung 830?

This shows that the Samsung 830 beating the M4 in a lot of tests. What do you guys think?

Also please vote for which drives on the poll and post here smile.gif

P.S Also should I wait for more drives to go on sale, since it looks like SSD prices are dropping like flies.

$140 is a good price, I'd go for it - I have both an M4 and 830 in the 64GB flavors - they are both extremely fast, IMO in real world there isn't really any difference between either of them that I've been able to notice, though they are both used primarily as boot drives.

Ok but when it comes to reliability? Which one?

BTW the astetics on the 830 is a lot better imo! smile.gif

I'm going to buy one of these drives today after work and I can't decide either. From the research I've done they are both similar enough in performance and reliability that you should just buy whichever is cheaper. In my case, at microcenter, the 830 is about $20 cheaper than the M4 so I think I'll get that.

The asthetics on a SSD matter to you? lol.

I guarantee you won't notice a difference between either drive. I can personally vouch for Crucial's support, which is excellent, but I'm sure the Samsung is just as good.

I had been looking at the m4/830/m3 and it ended up coming down to price. Like these guys said, either one is gonna be smokin smile.gif

So I bought the Samsung 830.

The next day the M4 pops up for $130 so I grabbed it as well

And now today...

Vertex 3 for $110 AR..

WHAT SHOULD I DO GUYS!? frown.gif

Vertex 3 is the fastest SSD on the market right now correct? Not including the new Vertex 4
