How long will my gpu last - Page 2

It sounds to me like you don't have very good air flow in your case, buy some fans to get some cool air flowing over your GPU. Other than this, it could be that it has a faulty temperature sensor, open up your case and tap the heat sink with you hand to see if it is actually hot. If there is some skin left behind on the HS afterwards, the sensor if perfectly functional. wink.gif

That's impossible unless he figured a way to reverse the direction that the PSU fan blows.

To OP.

Reapply new thermal paste. It gets dry and doesn`t transfer heat with time. There is not much you can do beside that, increasing fan RPM and cleaning.

Doesn't matter how you mount the power supply. The thing is that the fan in a power supply will always be "sucking" the air not "blowing" unless you open up the power supply itself and re-mount the fan the opposite way.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but I'm telling you it's impossible for your power supply to be blowing toward the internal components of your PC. Yes he could have installed the power supply upside down so that his fan is not effectively pulling air from inside the case (unless its a bottom mounted case). But for the power supply to be blowing on a graphics card is impossible. On a case with a bottom mounted power supply, even if the PSU was mounted upside down the power supply will still be pulling air and blowing it out the back of the case.

Well, if we take suggestions like that, then maybe he should check if his kitchen stove is not somehow pushing against his GPU, or if he accidently put his GPU in a vacuum smile.gif
