Okay I'm running Mint Debian right now but I'm gonna switch back to Mint (Ubuntu).

With Mint (Ubuntu) everything works out of the box and solving problems is often simpler, while Debian doesn't bring any advantages from what I've seen.

The advantages people bring to Debian is its stability and updates coming more often. Well for me the standard edition of Mint as always been stable..

The rolling release system isn't a good idea either in my opinion.

the advanages to normal debian are a much larger repo, a lighter system higher stability and release when they felt it was ready. by useing rolling release, LMDE killed the stability and kind of kills the point of debian. i still think you should try normal debian like me tongue.gif

According to Dad:

"Fedora is pretty good, they just release new versions too often, and don't allow it to get stable."

Which is the one major way in which it differs from debian in philosophy. Fedora releses every- 6 months? 1 year? Cant remember where as debian can go years without releases to ensure stability. Both have advanages and disadvanages.
