Eh...Skype I'd blame MS more for than even buntu. Honestly...only issue with it is the lag in getting it to use the gstreamer instead of vlc and that it screws with volume controls. But again...it's MS's fault I think.
I may try Arch through the lazy man's way of Archbang since I can't ever get a WPA wireless connection working with the pure Arch installer.

You could try and get your hands on an older core image instead of the aif free netinstalls that are on the arch site. Theres got to be older versions out there. Then you could install arch and configure the network afterThe Daily (K)Module

or he can install it from a livecd of say ubuntu or another install of linux (its a bit more indepth from there as you have to install "pacman" and its dependencies in the livecd/install, then setup the partitions, mount them, once you get the base system installed with pacman, you then can chroot into it, if need be i can write up the guide on how i do it, or search arch's wiki, most of it is in there (its a bit out dated last time i looked, mentions like ubuntu 9.04).

There is only 1 image now, which works for setting up any system you want.
Core images for Arch don't exactly work great. It based against the Arch way of rolling release. And while convenient, they only make things more complicated. If you install an older core image right now, when you do a system update you'll have to go through the glibc update problems, which is much more time consuming if the update isn't done right.
Netinstalls are always the way to go and always worth plugging an Ethernet cable in for the 10 minutes it takes to install everything and set up. And with an Ethernet cable plugged in, getting the network working is as simple as a dhcpcd. At which point you can download wireless_tools, wpasupplicant, firmware and whichever network manager you wish to use.
And aside from that, the AIF has been broken for quite some time and many people have had issues with it. Which is one of the driving factors to why it was removed. Broken and unmaintained by anyone.
It really is all around, easier and less of a headache to just find a simple Ethernet plug and do a netinstall. Or to find a plug'n'play usb wifi dongle with firmware/drivers built into the kernel.

Anyone have some good recommendations for mp3 sorters?
I have a ton of mp3's in no folder structure and I'd like to organize them by artist and album.
