Flashing a 6950

Thread Starter
Hey all, i've got the 6950 2gb Dirt 3 edition video card, And i just found out i could flash it to a 6970. Would the performance increase be worth it? I dont intend to OC it, but if it will perform slightly better, it may be worth it.

Has anybody flashed this card before?

Cheers

there is plenty of documentation on this, including the Dirt 3 card, which is slightly different than the reference cards.

There is a BIOS switch right next to the crossfire connector. With the system off, flip the switch, boot up and use GPU-Z to see if the core count goes to 1536 from 1408.

Some Dirt 3 cards supposedly shipped with an unlocked BIOS

So all i do is flip the switch? Dont have to do anything else?

that would be the first step, seeing if it already has the unlocked BIOS
