FX series CPUs are not bad in my opinion. Their price just doesn't seem to be right at the moment since something that performs better seems to be cheaper such us the Phenom II CPUs.

if BD's predecessor is faster, then it is bad. a successor that didn't succeed, lol.

I'd go for a 960t if you can find one, it's still a quadcore but quite a bit faster then a Q6600. They can also unlock to 6 cores at 4GHz plus or take.

Fx 6100? No.

My father has a 8120. My i5 2500k performs better in 95% of applications. It is also cheaper depending on where you reside.

Another vote for 2500k, 2550k (as low as 150 at Microcenter), or Phenom 2.

Typical Intel "FanBoy" response.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1210060/fx8120-vs-2500k-benchmark-results

I got my 8120 for $175 out-the-door. Microcenter is NOT a viable option for about 95% of the US population as they are pick-up-only.

I am a fanboy because I own an Intel CPU? Are you mad bro?

I guess that AMD GPU in my rig is causing me to lose sleep at night. Suggesting a Phenom II over a 6120 is also cause for concern right? You're right.... TOTAL fanboy.... rolleyes.gif

I got my 2500k for 180 out the door. Microcenter had the 2550k going for 150. I believe my post does say "cheaper depending on where you reside."

I also don't need benches to compare two chips that I have first hand experience with. Thank you!

But hey, continue to defend your precious "8 core"... Whatever helps you sleep.

Try to use a little common sense and logical thinking next time before spouting off some ignorant bull **** and calling individuals a fan boy because you don't agree with their opinion. Tool.
