fx 6100 good choice or no? - Page 14

You don't need to correct me.. i've been messing with computer for a long long time. AMD has a lot more respect and they are willing to help you.. Intel is just in it for the money.

I am going for an intel processor.... but its not because its any better than the fx processor, its because i want a good gaming experience and i dont want my mother to complain about the electric bill...

LOL OP decided on his cpu pick on page 3 and this is now up to page 14 lol

I love when people compare the 6100 to 2500. The 2500 almost 33% more in cost [yes it could be on sale on some site that you have to pick up in one of their 4 stores in the US] [fx-6100 $150 compared to the 2500 $200-just off of new egg\tiger direct is about the same]

if any thing compare the 6100 to an i3-2130, that would be fair.

Now before i get called a fan boy, yes i own a FX-6100.
I am happy with it, as i was coming off of a Athlon x2-So any 4/6/8 core would have impressed me.
I saw they came out and got one as it was my time for a massive upgrade/ fit with in my budget.

now dont get me wrong I do agree the i5 and i7 are fantastic cpus
and if i had more budget i would have gotten one.

the FX cpus are a good middle ground cpu and it leaves me room to grow into the next set of chips that come out.
It was great for on a budget and it was my first time OCing a cpu and it is working out well for me.

To Each there own! lol

If the AMD CPU is better than the Intel one, like you have been saying. Then the AMD CPU (8120 or whatever FX you were talking about) should give you a better gaming experience compared to any Intel CPU, whether it's the 2500K or 2600K or even the 3960X.

Proof that AMD has a more respect and is not in it for the money

your statement contradicts itself bro, if sandy bridge provides you a better gaming experience than faildozer, then that just means that sandy bridge is better than faildozer.

Actually, I do believe FX bottlenecks on 3 way 6970 CF, which is about the same as 2 x 6990.
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/4353/amd_fx_8150_vs_intel_i7_2600k_crossfirex_hd_6970_x3_head_to_head/index5.html
(Test is done on 2600K, but shouldn't be a too much difference in gaming performance).
Also in the benchmark you have linked multiple times, 2500K do have better FPS than 8120. Do look closely. Shouldn't matter that much since many people are still on 60 Hz monitor (extra FPS matters if you are planning/using 120 Hz monitor).
In my opinion, if you want Bulldzoer then only buy FX-8120. No more and no less. It is very hard to suggest FX-41xx or 61xx to someone, as in my opinion they are still priced too high for relative performance. Obviously FX-8150 is overpriced. That pretty left with FX-8120.
In any cases, OP has long decided to go for 2500K. So the argument should stop here.
