Runs well, clocked at 4.5ghz... And supporting amd is good for everyone, if not every intel chip would have an "Extreme" price.

Nobody wants to see a 2500k type processors priced at 1000, amd is good for everyone.

Okay, i think you need to read into it a bit more

"nobody wants to see 2500k TYPE processors at 1000.... Can't believe i have to explain this...

If nobody buy's amd products, they will go out of business.... If intel has no competition, they can charge whatever they want.... now hopefully you can understand this concept up to this point, else ill just be blowing hot air...

1. Amd goes out of business or stops trying to be competitive with intel
2. Intel charges however much they want for their product.
3. consumers unhappy, but what choice to do you have?

Two things I want to point out.

* You won't see Intel charging ridiculous price on mainstream CPU (LGA1155 platform) anytime soon. Even if AMD goes out of business, Intel won't charge ridiculous because OEM will object strongly to it. Also Intel faces internal competition where it has to convince existing Intel users to buy newer CPU. Above all government will step in and intervene. This false assumption needs to stop.

* You should ONLY and ONLY buy a CPU that satisfies you demand. If you are buying a CPU just to keep a company alive not only are you wasting your money, but also indirectly sending a message that the company does not need to improve. If a CPU does not satisfies your demand, by not buying it you are telling the company that other CPU fits your demand and that they need to improve.

doh.gif Trump, you're killing me here. That is irrelevant as not ALL 2600K's can hit that speed just like not ALL 8150's will top out at 4.7GHz. Using your logic, benches with an FX @ 8GHz under LN2 and an i5 @ 5.5GHz under LN2 would be a completely fair comparison and end all for determining a clear winner. Can we agree that these benchmarks clearly gave an unfair edge to intel?

1. Something as likely as $100 more, is ridiculous. This is NOT a far-fetched possibility.

2. This is exactly what AMD consumers are doing, buying what fulfills their needs. Now explain to me why the closed-minded intel loyal feel a need to come to AMD forums to try and sway away people from buying what suits their needs and budget?

Was the Bulldozer over-hyped? Yes. Was it a failure? Of course not. Computerparts, among others, have proved it. The FX line is doing well in terms of sales for a reason. I have both and I swear no one will ever be able to tell the difference between the two. The only real difference is that the 8120, cost me $30 less.
