Incorrect. The warranty is valid for 3 years regardless of if you register or not. Registering just gives you extended warranty options and advanced RMA

I really like EVGA upgrade program if you like to swap hardware a lot, their warranty is also very good.. EVGA is the only company I know of that will give you a 580 when a 480 dies.. Well at least they use to, I hear now that they don't honor "life time" warranties anymore once a product has reached End of Life, ie; They don't produce that line anymore and their warehouse inventory has ran dry...

Also people on EVGA forums swears by that brand and think EVGA is god gift's to the PC hardware world, at least my buddy with 3x EVGA 580's seems to think so...

Now this is just all hear say and I don't have personal experience, also I don't own anything EVGA come to think of it, most my hardware is Gigabyte and 1x 580 MSI, don't yell at me.. biggrin.gif

Anyways as for the OP question.. depending on where you are from, I always buy products based on ease of customer service, MSI, Gigabyte falls in this category for me, Asus is distributed by Hornington in Hong Kong (where I am from) and they don't give two chits about their customers..

If the item is not registered, then it carries a 1 year warranty and still requires an invoice. I'm not positive on the length of their warranty, but the invoice is required.

If its an "AR" or "KR product it comes with a 3 year warranty regardless of registration. "TR/LR" products have the standard 2 year warranty.

Not anymore! Its 3 year based off the serial number even if your the 2nd/3rd/4th owner regardless of registration!

This is incorrect. Out definition of lifetime is as long as you own the product, registered in 30 days, and have proof of purchase. Many other manufacturers consider lifetime to be until a product is EOL, EVGA is not one of them.

We also announced a new warranty yesterday. Our 3 year warranties now transfer to second hand users. We are offering free cross shipments to the US/Canada, among a number of other upgrades. You can check it out here: http://www.evga.com/articles/00671/

EVGA - Much better support... and they encourage overclocking the cards... and correct me if I am wrong...

But I had a GTX 295, took it apart, water cooled it...
When it started failing, I did a piss poor job putting it back together, and EVGA charged me $10 for a missing part, and upgraded me to a GTX 480...

Couldn't be happier with EVGA, and own two EVGA 580's, and a 480, and will be sticking with them from now on...

thumb.gif We spent alot of time discussing and tweaking this new warranty to support our customers better. Lots of monster, scratch paper, and coffee were consumed.

Thank You Mathew for clearing that up and always nice to see a hardware rep popping in, Just wondering..

I can buy EVGA products from a local distributor (saves me a bung load from shipping), some companies only honor warranties from a "authorized distributor" as I have learned the hard way (was not a EVGA product), long story, turned out I couldnt get it returned as the store I bought it from is closed down and the company / product in question did not accept a return even tho it was within the 1st year of purchase (2 year warranty period)... If if buy EVGA graphic cards for example, I have tendency to buy 2-3 usually for some dual display goodness.. Does your warranty cover me no matter where I bought a EVGA card from?

If the original purchaser (the person/entity who bought it from EVGA. That could be a reseller, distributor, etc) bought it after july 1st 2011 then its covered by a 3 year warranty from the date of shipment from us. If you can get the seller to give you the serial number you can check here: http://www.evga.com/Support/guestregister.asp

If it were possible to get an EVGA card, I'd get one. Unfortunately, they are ALL out of stock in Holland... Which vendor would be the next best for warranty, regarding switching the stockcooler for a waterblock?
