PSU for an AMD 7870 and my current rig?

Thread Starter
It must be a $60-70 PSU.

I was thinking about the OCZ ModXStream pro 600W. What do you think?

It must be from CompUSA, as it is the only place my brother can buy it.

Is that a good brand?

I'm seeing it only has one PCI-E 6 pin connector. The 7870 requires two.

My brother is in the US, visiting, and CompUSA and a few other stores are the only ones he has seen.

Also, I was going to buy the 7870, but apparently you can only find it online =(

Ahahaha, nooooooo, Coolmax is bad.

This would be far superior and easily enough power: http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1143934&CatId=5430

This is a better psu by XFX. It is 550W and from a seasonic oem. better than ocz
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=125449&CatId=5431

and this is the same price as the 450W unit suggested by the previous poster

Hey, I was about to link that as well. The 450 watt version would be a very good fit for his rig, although he'd need a molex to PCIe adaptor to make it work (which the 7870 should come with). So really it's up to the OP, both are great units at a great price (though I'd go with the 450 personally).

Why would you get the 450W for the same price??? Also if you look up the 550 W on newegg it lists 2 PCIE connectors which would negate the need for an adapter, and since those adapters are garbage, this is a good thing.

Get the 550W with seasonic S12II components and 2 pcie connectors. It is a good unit and you will be happy with your purchase. Especially at the 60$ pricepoint after rebate.

I would honestly still go with the XFX. The GS 600 is corsairs lower end.

If you really want more watts, just get this:

I already sent the email to my brother. If it's cheap we'll buy that one. Thanks.

What's the disadvantage of dual +12V rails vs singles?
