Overvoltage failure

Hmm this does sound like a PSU bottleneck or the mobo , but I doubt as the PSU is a pure 500W but I can still buy a CM or a corsair 650Tx so that would stop my buying of the mobo.

Now my system is OC'ed

Phenom 960T 4.0 Ghz 1.44v multi 20x
NB 2800 @1.3v 14x
Asus M4A78lt-m le

and everything else on stock.

Ah sometimes I wish we were still using the 386 and 486 heck nowadays the systems are so complicated and not being in the hardware field from so many years does show that your knowledge now is back to zero smile.gif.

Motherboard isn't the greatest for ocin especially with no vrm heatsinks. The 500W psu is more than enough just not sure on the quality of it

thanks for the reply richie , Tarun a member here did mention that . So If my budget permits I will for the Asus M5A97 or if not than GA78LMT-S2p.

The PSU is a reputed brand here in India.

Has anyone here who has overclocked the 960T seen a TDP of 107w in CPU-Z ?

Think its due to the mobo that I am seeing that failure , just awaiting the prices for the new mobo.

mine does, too. Quad with Cool & Quiet enabled - it goes down to 71w. never seen that elusive 95w.

just play your fsx.

Haha , one thing that does come to my mind about voltage failure if that could be the HSF not being locked down properly as I just confirmed with my sources about the PSU VIP Gold 500w is a pure 500w PSU.

Hmm rdr09 well should I go with the gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2p as the other boards are going over budget due too much expense on my new lappie and LED and other stuff. Now this is a 4+1 phase mobo.

Hmm I think i will wait out the new upgrade might as well upgrade after a month when i get a BD 6100 or 8xxx for my linux server .

i think your current mobo is fine for now as you can still do the things you do. save some, search more, and just play fsx.

if you can find even an am3 board that has lots of phase, then that would bring the most out of your chip. that giga will not make your aircfraft fly faster.thumb.gif

LOL i don't fly the whole day just on holidays or weekends or whenever time permits.

Yeah better to wait it out right now. Will put a NB cooler.

Question how many minimum phases should i go for when I get the new upgrades ?

8+2. i have not been flying for awhile. here soon coz my school is about to end.

give me some tips - if you don't mind thru pm.

btw, there other things you should consider when buying a mobo like distance of socket to dimm slots, number of pci, position of sata connectors, etc. mainly look at your current setup and see where you can improve it and based your decision on what you want your next mobo will be. check this out . . .

400

see how the sata connectors are not on the way and makes a cleaner look. downside is you may not have room if hdds and other stuff are installed. plan and just play fsx.
