It's frustrating, because from what I've read, Windows 8 is going to be a great OS under the hood. It's just overshadowed by that new interface.

Unlikely, Ive loved 7 since I started using it in the RC stage. Ill try it but I wont buy it, being a student and having access to free copies of Windows I wont technically have to buy it.

Not a chance I buy Windows 8.
It has almost no attractive features for desktop use, and productivity on a desktop is AWFUL compared to Windows 7. It has no features that make it a must have gaming OS either. It's a schizophrenic OS that doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, and it looks to me like it has epic fail written all over it for the desktop market.

I have a chance to get a free copy, so I will put that to the test first. I dont mind the new interface, its different. I know some people hate different and others adapt and end up liking, just hoping its not a glamour version of Vista...

Yes for me, I wonder if all of the guys saying no have even tried it for more than a couple of days. The desktop power user features are really nice. OK, i came back to windows 7 for now but thats mainly because of stability and application/driver support. When windows 8 rolls out im definitely going to giv eit a try and hopefully my new laptop will come with it so I wont have to "buy" it.
