I am gonna try and stay away from Windows 8 as i don't like the metro style and Windows 7 works wonderful enough as is I think that Windows 8 might be the new Vista from microsoft but that is just this man's opinion.

I distrust Microsoft in every way and have no need for using Windows 8. I might go back to try Linux again after support for Win 7 expires in a few years or I might even get rid of the computer all together.

No. the idea of windows 8 is for a touch screen interface, why would i want that for my computer when im using a mouse? windows 7 is much more efficient and for a mouse-based system, it makes windows 8 useless, unless of course you have a tablet and will use its touch screen advantages

I will likely install server and desktop versions to familiarize myself, but continue to use 7 as my main.

Nope. I've tested it and it sucks so hard. Metro should only be a feature that can be enabled and disabled.

Windows 7 does everything I need and more. There's absolutely no reason to "upgrade".
