no, never for a PC.
if i got a tablet, I'd consider it.

There is no need for this. i don't want my computer to have lame mobile/console/tablet looking crap on it when i just want to play games or something. Windows 7 is perfect biggrin.gif

I'm already experimenting with Unity as an HTPC front end. My wife likes it, and I do enjoy that my network services are now faster and more stable. I wouldn't be caught dead with Unity on my desktop either, but if I can get used to that, there's no way I'm handing M$ my hard earned green for Windows 8.

No.

For me it doesn't bring anything new to the table. I don't have shortcuts to any programs on my desktop, I have a folder that has all the shorcuts to my games, programs, moves and music all sorted out cleanly and efficiently. I also use the start menu and Start menu "search bar" alot. I would hate to see those go.

And I also don't like change to be honest. going from XP to windows 7 was a huge leap for me and took around 2 years before I changed.

I would consider the upgrade, but only if they bring out a Professional version with less of the Metro crap.

It refuses to install on my computer. That already send up a red flag for me. who-let-rip-smiley.png

No. Here are my reasons:

- Windows 8 is basically a touch OS
- Can't stand the way Metro (notifications, side charms, hot corners) interferes with the desktop.
- Brings nothing of relevance to the traditional desktop
- Windows 7 works just fine

I'm not sure I'd want it even if I got it for free, to be honest. It's so jarring it gets on my nerves.
I usually always want the latest and the greatest but I'm not going to buy Windows 8.

1. I don't have the money for it.
2. Windows 7 works fine for my needs.
3. If I wanted a tablet OS, I'd buy a tablet.

It's JUNK!

I would have to be able to use it for a while to make a decision. But my initial impression isn't very positive.
