Nope unless I build a HTPC I may... I feel the UI is just all touch vs better overall on O.S.. I also feel MS visual of the touch squares and color scheme just looks like something out of kindergarten... It just does not look all that great to me... But well will see if other features will be added to pull me in...

If for no other reason the fact that you can now have the taskbar across both screens (or more) is worth the price of admission.

I don't think it will be Microsoft's next Vista, the driver and software compatibility is there and holistically it isn't that different from Windows 7 but it does have a lot of under the hood improvements.

I see Metro as just an expanded start menu. There was no reason why the start menu was so small and even though it may be aimed at touch, it is much easier to click on large tiles than it is to click on small icons.

So much fanboism as well, I can tell by some of the pixels and a complete lack of any argument as to why some of the "uneducated" people are wrong when they say they don't need Windows 8 thumb.gif

... and start being a different kind of sheep, the one that will buy a marginally improved OS with an impractical UI stapled onto it. tongue.gif

No because I do not like how they dumped the start menu. And YES I have used it. I don't want a touch UI on my desktop, maybe if they made a tablet edition and a desktop edition then yeah I would buy it. Maybe the desktop edition could be like XP, less bloated, least recourse consuming, and maybe give it a new look, I have a guide that was able to get me down to 600 or less mb of ram being used while doing nothing. Maybe I should share that with them and it could be a built in option for those who don't need all dat fancy sheet. If Windows 8 was less of a touch screen based OS then of course I would buy it. If you have an XBOX 360 and are updated 100% then you know that it is based off of windows 8 look.

I could get used to using the ribbons and the navigation differences between 7 & 8 but since there is no image software on 8 that is a deal breaker for me.

No thanks, not going through the hassle of running games in any sort of "compatability mode" like I did with my old games when I went with 7.
