Okay, im new to pc gaming so don't know if I have to change settings on my pc for games. Had the game today and have noticed that when racing other cars it seems to slow down and maybe pause for a millisecond. In the game I have changed the settings to medium or low but to no avail.
My PC specs;
Bitfenix shinobi
q8400s quad @3.ghz
4gb geil ultra ram
His HD5750 (ordered asus 6850 to arrive soon)
Arctic pro 13 cooler
Crucial SSD M4

GPU set to 800mhz with memory @ 1300mhz

Any advice welcome.

Run on the very lowest settings and remove any effects and AA and AF and so on. It just looks like a case of that the system can't handle it. It is an old system on a "bit of a demanding game". The new GPU might also not bring much to the table because of your CPU. Just keep that in mind. Try the new card and see how it goes.

Thanks for you reply. Like I said this is the first game I have ever bought a game for a pc and played. If I start to use a PC for gaming instead my xbox, From looking around, the only cpu/ board etc in my price range would be a 2500k, but again I don't know if thats any good for gaming? up until now my Q8400 has suited my needs well. My first impressions of pc gaming is the graphics blow the xbox away.

A 2500k could run Dirt2 at stock clocks and still hold 60fps imo smile.gif
