lol, thats gonna stink to high heaven, use good ventilation like under a window with a fan blowing air out of room, grab a dish sink tub from the dollar store.

fyi thermal pads for th 69x0 are 1mm for memory (sometimes needing 1.5mm) and .5 for vrm's you can use 1mm on vrm's but they really stretch out and squish and tear up, you'll see when you take it apart.

i just finished killing (opps) cleaning the mobo with alcohol. it melted the coolant residue away immediately. i'm sorry i have no photos. i did it at work. we have compressed air:thumb:. i have yet to install the 69x0's. the heatkiller cpu block is full of gunk..
i'm going to use juggllo's lemon juice method to clean it up.
tomorrow i will disassemble the video card. i promise pics of the carnage before submerging it in the alcohol bath...
cross your fingers for me:sadsmiley

You can send it through your dishwasher and it will give it a thorough clean if you don't want to do it by hand.

I've used lots of zip ties. And as long as they are tight, you've got good barbs, and decent tubing they work fine. Gotta give them an extra tug with a pair of needle nose plier though before snipping off the excess smile.gif

i wanted to use compression fitting on the heatkiller but the inlet and outlet are to close together. so close in fact i couldnt use the bigger heavy zip ties. i use the tygon 1/2id -3/4od hose. this time i ordered 45 deg angle bit power silver compression fittings. hope they fit.

Careful with the compressions. They're lovely but they don't have a lot of tolerance for poor quality tubing or tubing that isn't exactly the right size and cut very cleanly.

Good luck on everything working once dried! thumb.gif
