Use the in game command console in bf3 to check if it bottlenecking your system.

If it is switch to the i5,otherwise I say dont fix it if it isn't broke.

Not bashing the the 1090t or 1100t In any way both are great chip's. Just showing OP the facts that's it.

Entirely irrelevant.
I share the same opinion as them and I own 3 Intel based computers.
Price vs performance is highly important when you don't have the extra money to upgrade your computer with.
Intel is superior in most cases, just not necessarily in the price/performance sense, when you own a computer ~ 85% as fast.smile.gif

As a former AMD fan boi, I can also attest to the whole price performance thing - I use Intel at work (desktop PC, servers) but we use AMD in the majority of our systems. You just can't beat the value that an AMD APU offers these days. Prior to the AMD APUs, we used AMD Athlon II's

When your budget is limited, and you can get 85% of the performance (and more in some cases) it doesn't make sense to buy the Intel Inside logo.

I just started a trial with the i3's to see how they do. I'm open minded enough to give them both a good run.

Folks who get bent out of shape about the disparity between the two are still clutching on to their fanboi helms.

It's not just the cpu that's better in real world applications it also the gpu that will perform better. From experience owning both Intel and AMD your card will run much better with an Intel cpu than the Amd. With Op running the 7970 the Amd will not be able to really make that card perform at it's best. All my gpu's scores went up with the switch. Showing me that the 1090t was not really letting me run my card the way it should run even at 4.2.
Again not bashing the AMD chip's. They are great cpu's for people with a budget but if you can afford to the Intel cpu is the way to go.

Oh definitely - Intel's IPC is much higher overall.

I'm tempted to buy into LGA 2011 when I get my car paid off - want to play with that platform since I'll have the cash flow for the first time in... forever. blinksmiley.gif
