UPDATE 2:

(Almost) Everything Has Arrived!! The UPS guy paid me a little visit, and brought 2 boxes of goodies!

Obligatory Box Shot:
400

This post is mainly Unboxing/ Initial impressions of everything. You'll notice the lack of a GTX 570. Apparently the ebay seller shipped it already, but it's still not here sadsmiley.gif

Corsair Vengeance: Warning: Lots of Pictures! (Click to show)
400
Basic Ram Box.

400
Flips open so you can see all the serial numbers. It's like this on the back too.

700
Each stick was individually packaged. I thought that was a nice touch!

400
Look at that heatsink!

OCZ Agility SSD: Warning: Lots of Pictures! (Click to show)
700

400
Mmmm Sata III Goodness

400
I like how vibrant that green is! Too bad my case theme is black/red/white hahaha

400
All the stuff that came in the package. I like the sticker!

Maximus IV Gene-Z Gen 3: Warning: Lots of Pictures! (Click to show)

400

400
Giant window sticker I would presume they want you to put on your case? Car?

400
They give you stickers to put around your cables so you can organize everything!

400
All the extra cables and goodies you get.

Corsair TX750 : Warning: Lots of Pictures! (Click to show)
400

400
Lots of connections! Not modular though. I foresee some cable management issues in my future.

400

400
Even the box inside the box has a nice printed logo on it. Very classy.

700

700
It even comes in its own cloth case! That really surprised me. It tells me that corsair thinks this is a high quality product and treats it as such. Awesome!

400
Ruh roh raggy.... That's a LOT of cables hahaha

400
You get 4 PCI-E 6+2 connectors, each of which is sleeved INDIVIDUALLY all the way back to the PSU. Looks fantastic.

400
Here is one strand of Molex Connectors. It terminates with a 4 pin floppy power connector. There are 2 of these strands in the box for 8 Molex and 2 floppy supplies.

400
The molex connectors have this interesting disconnect ability where you squeeze those two semi circles and it forces the molex out of whatever its plugged into.

400
The SATA power connectors are the pass through type. They come 4 to a strand and you get 2 strands, for a total of 8 SATA power connectors.

Lian Li PC-V353: Warning: Lots of Pictures! (Click to show)

400
Heres the box. A little beaten up in transit, but it held up pretty well.

400
Those instructions on the top are pretty much how to build a computer. If you've never done it before they could be useful.

400
Lian Li- Wrapping cases with love... and ads

400
First thing I noticed were all of the thumbscrews on the back. Very nice for easy access to the PSU and motherboard

400
The DVD drive can go on either side and can be stealthed with the cover they give you.

400
Finally got it turned around to the front. The finish is sharp!

400
The power and sleep button have a green tinge to them and have a series of metallic circles. Hard to see the green in the pictures though.

400
There was a protective film on the logo on the front, it was just hard to get off because it was cut to fit the cover perfectly.

400
The side panel is held on with connections like this as opposed to sliding in and screwing down the back like other cases.

400
It connects to this.

400
And this is the inside of the case. If I want to water cool (which I do) I have my work cut out for me! Also notice all the thumbscrews. They hold just about everything in place. The box in the back contained all the screws and some rubber vibration dampeners for fans (at least thats what I think they are)

Now on to building!!

Well, I've spent the past 5 hours trying to trouble shoot the SSD and I'm now convinced that its dead. What a disappointment and a total buzzkill. I'll have to RMA it tomorrow I guess. For now all I have is a Seagate 2TB Barracuda to run off of sadsmiley.gif
post #14 of 29
Should've gotten an M4. Those things are rock solid. tongue.gif

But that does suck that it is DOA. I wouldn't go through the trouble of installing on the 2TB. Just run off of a linux live distro or something until it is fixed.

If Newegg gives me the option, I'm steering clear of OCZ from here on. After looking at OCZ's forums I wonder if they even test the products they sell. I'm feeling pretty used at this point, even if they do honor my RMA request. Why should I have to test their products for them?
You might be able to get a full refund or at least store credit to get an appropriately priced different SSD.

It is worth a try at least.

Well, I ended up using Neweggs RMA procedure. OCZ refused to pay the shipping even though they are the ones sending out defective drives. You can either have crappy product quality and great support for your crappy products, or you can have really great products and crappy support, but you can't have both OCZ. They won't be receiving my business again any time soon! That said, I should have done my homework and realized that it was a roll of the dice before I bought it but oh well! Live and learn!

That said, Newegg offered to pay for the return shipping without me even having to ask for it so a big +1 to Newegg! Hopefully I'll be receiving my new working drive next week, which will lead me to re-installing windows (I just couldn't wait armourcore haha). The rest of the parts all seem to be running flawlessly! I'll have some pictures up from the build later this weekend, but for now I've gotta catch up on some homework I've been putting off all break. Big thanks to everyone in this thread and around the forums for their support, I definitely will be sticking around for a while!

Oh, and while I'm here, Audioholic, this motherboard is CRAZY awesome! It supported my wireless mouse and keyboard right off the bat. No more courier new and corded keyboards for me my friend. Plus it has automatic overclocking, multiple overclocking profiles, and a crazy amount of other awesome stuff. I most definitely dig it.

I am really excited. I picked up an NZXT Vulcan, hopefully I can squeeze my h100 up there. thumb.gif
