I have Pny Optima 1 gig and 512mb sticks.Is it best to have higher timing or lower timing

Having looser timings ( Higher numbers ) is best as it gives more headroom. Tighter timings dont yeild much of a performance boost.

Do you think my timing of 3-3-3-8(1T) will allow me to reach 250 fsb x 8

well it didnt let me It reset back to 1.6 after i changed fsb to 240 I had it at 235 and it booted fine.Do i have to adjust the ram more?
Well i just rebooted and bios still says i have fsb of 240 and windows system says it is at 1.6

The BIOS reading will always be the correct reading. Can you get your timings looser...Runin 2t perhaps ?

Should i change LDT downstream Width and or HT Frequency to 3x its at 4 now

HT should be set at 4 i beleive. Im not sure what else should be changed really ill leave that to someone who knows mate.

Are you sure bios is always right because cpu-z and clockgen both say im at 1.6

Well initial BIOS readings should be correct yes. Perhaps update your BIOS.
