hi dudes
im gonna purchase a p4 3.4 478 but not sure of what the difference is between these 2 chips. I understand the prescott get alot hotter, maybe it has a slight perfomance advantage to the northwood? can u guys advise me on best chip for gaming and general use

If you plan to overclock, then get the Northwood. It will cost you an arm and a leg to cool a Pressy.

Well what would you like to know. I own this CPU.

Northwoods run alot cooler than there Prescott counterparts by ALOT. Not only this the Northwoods are faster than the prescotts due to there shorter pipeline stage process.
