I should've looked closer before getting all happy. the G.Skill Ares is CL10 while the AVEXIR is CL9. I'm not sure how much of a difference this makes but I know that a lower timing is better.

well 1333 - 1600 makes bugger all difference, cl10 compared to cl9 probably will but will you notice the difference im doubt it unless your benching it.. the bonus with the G.Skill deal is they have cemented thier name in the industry and proven great CS.. IMO i would sacrifice cl9 to cl10 from a proven company, plus if you down clock the G.Skill to 1333, im sure you could tighten the timings as well

Problem with Gskill lately is they make ram that has high rated speeds but not very high CL timings and the kits don't over clock well.
I'm looking at Avexir and few other brands right now mainly because I want a good deal on fast ram that has over clocking ability.
Also Gskill customer service used to be great. I recently had a bad experience with them and I'm looking elsewhere for high quality over clocking ram.

You'll be happy to know I'm still running the AVEXIR RAM albeit 24GB instead of 32GB- it needs a dime of extra voltage for all 4 sticks to work.Originally Posted by SonDa5
