Experience with OC 965, some BIOS/OC tool setup must be disabled?

Thread Starter
Hi, guys,

I have run many benchmark torture test on my AMD965 system now. It seems I must disable the BIOS "quiet/smart fan" and force the fan to level 10 (always maximum speed) to get a stable 4GHz system for prime95 most heat test.

With this maximum cooling setup, idle temp. is 27-28C, full load at 55 max.

If I enable the fan control in BIOS or using the fan control tool in OS, the test always restarts my system within one hour. The strange thing is that the full load temp. is about 58C.

Do any of you has the same experience? rolleyes.gif

i always make sure cool n quiet and c1e are disabled in bios. if all your fans are hooked up to the motherboard make sure smart fan control is disabled as well as that will throttle your fans back and limp your overclock out. you want your fans running full bore for any heavy overclocking. heat is the enemy of overclocking and too much heat will ruin your fun.
