Gs<gt<gtx

its how they're rated for performance

Gs is slower than GT, which is slower than GTX

^ Mikey pretty summed it up. Its just different models for the series of card. Kinda like cars, there is a mustang, or the mustang GT, there is a corvette, or corvette z06... Get it?

GTX is the top notch by nvidia, GS is the lowest model... for the 7900series. XT models are usually the lowest performance in nvidias band of cards.

And also, ATI cards are rated as follows (I'm fairly certain, but not positive)

GT<XT<XTX, but there are also the GTO and PRO series, plus the All in Wonder cards, etc etc.

But for the 1900s, GT<XT<XTX

Right. Take the 7900 series, the differences between the 7900 GS and GT are 4 pixel pipelines (20 versus 24, and one less ROM i *think*). The differences between the GT and the GTX are 256mb of ram, and higher stock voltage to the core allowing for a higher factory core speed. All can be overclocked. 7600 GT and GS both have 12 pixel pipelines, however, the GT uses GDDR3, while the GS uses GDDR2.

You can always rep someone, just click the *rep +* button. That being said, rep is just an extra perk, all that matters here is helping people.

Watch out for the 'Le' ones...those ones are dastardly.

It's all been said, but look for the DDR3 7300Gts as well. THey outperform the 7600GS and can be OCd to hell.

THe ATi's worl differently though.

The have the GTO, the XL, XT, XTX and now GT. They also have the Pro now...

From teh X19xxs:

XTX>XT>Pro>GT
