But +1 to all of the above. Get a kit if you want to learn, it has everything you possibly could need for a CPU loop.

If i do go with a kit, there's nothing stopping me from adding more custom things to it? Looking to get some colored uv tubing, adding a gpu water block, and some compression fittings.

yup nothing stopping you. I started with the kit, now I have a gpu block and some new hoses.
Small wonder.

If you are considering buying compression fittings, then just do this instead. You won't regret it.

Also take in mind that the radiators included (The RX series) are one of the best radiators available wink.gif

Except with the RX240, as that kit comes with the 360.

IMO, if you are looking for an awesome decent priced kit, get: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15140/ex-wat-203/XSPC_Raystorm_RX360_Extreme_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_w_RX360_Radiator_and_Free_Kill_Coil_Hot_item.html
You can choose your color tubing (i chose uv blue), and it comes with a dual bay d5 (mcp-655 or alphacool vpp single, same thing but the vpp doesn't come with a top, which the kit provides). It also comes with compression fittings and a really ncie triple rad for low - medium speed fans. The xspc raystorm is also a great block, and the dual bay res is pretty cool.

This kit would cost more for each individual part?

In all honesty, it may cost more, but no kit can replace some good research and a custom loop. The thing with the kit loop is that you'll more than likely outgrow it, parts will immaturely wear out, and or you'll upgrade pieces, which results in you buying parts twice.

In my opinion, do it right the first time; build a budget conscious custom loop and buy parts once. Not to mention it is super-fun, and there is definitely something to be said for watching your custom creation come to life each time you start your machine. Building/planning the cooling loop is probably my favorite part of a build. That and sleeving cables. thumb.gif
