In truth its probably a combination of their actual business practices, media spin, and people being reticent to try something new like Origin.

Not to mention that they gave the whole internet the option to vote for the worst company in America (screwing up the reliability of their sample from the get go), when the whole internet consists of billions of people who will never have had any access to USA specific companies like Verizon, the Bank of America and the like.

EA is primarily a publisher.
My opinion on this is that when a company comes out a applauds another for squeezing every penny it can out of a franchise, well... that says it all. Even Activision won't come blatantly out, point their finger at you and laugh as they hand you the KY.

I take it you've never read any interviews featuring a man named Mr Kotick?

Oh, I've read that crap. But what does it say about EA when they applaud that behavior?

Blind hate, a bit like with Apple and the CoD series.

Hating Apple is the furthest thing from blind. If you've got a shred of ethical direction the hate comes easily. Same can be said about anything really. If you care about gaming in any fashion and don't want to see it beaten like a red headed step child it's easy to see what can inevitably kill it.

I think the sample is not accurate to the reality... a group of people that are on the internet/computer on a daily basis are more likely to vote online, inherently the chance of these people being gamers and/or EA customers is quite high.

I agree with what was said already, EA is a capitalistic monolithic douche-company but its NOT THAT BAD, when you compare it with cigarette companies who poison people on a daily basis or banks who basically bet against their own clients in a huge ponzi scheme. Comeon, everyone need to put this stuff in perspective... as over-hyped and crappy as Crysis 2 was, it didn't kill anyone nor did it exploit someone to the level of losing a home or a job, etc. (These are the implications of today's bank practices)

I think overall, its just smoke & mirrors to keep your eye off the ball from those who are actually hurting you each and everyday.

Haha, this makes sense too rolleyes.gif

Yep, it would even be hard to have the worst company in the world due to a similar problem. They should have set up some criteria in advance and then picked the company that ticked the most boxes. That takes a lot more work from the editors and writers though rolleyes.gif

Either way... EA is poised to lose massive market share. Mianly because of their ****ty over-hyped games... but also, THIS. Which is the exclamation point on their shrinking client-base.

I hardly think EA is worse than the company that ruined millions of peoples lives by providing bad loans, and terribly painful evictions

Their shrinking client-base? Wasn't Battlefield 3 one of the best selling games of the year?
