Urgent Please Help Me!!!

my problem is NOT simple. It is called error 39 where my dvd drives are not being detected. i search 'error 39 code' an was redirected to the microsoft website and downloaded guided help which didn't help, i then manualy deleted upperfilter (couldn't find lowerfilter) from registry edit.

how this started is like this, i accidently clicked uninstall on my sound drivers/software. so i ENDED the proccess. i then uninstalled them properly because my sound no longer worked. so when this uninstalled i tryed to reinstalled them.......BOOM MY COMPUTER RESTARTS!!!

and so we come to my dvd drives not being detected and me being without sound. i can't resolve this issue i beg to all who read this and understand to atleast assist me.

one finall thing, i think a piece of software called MIONET is partly responsible to this because when i had it installed it seemed to crash my comp at strange times...

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I have been told formating is my own solution at the moment...that WOULD suck

Well Here we go.

Remove the software named MIONET as it sounds suspect to me and could be Spyware or adware causing more issues.

Now make sure that within your computer that your DVD drives are fully connected to your motherboard and are hooked up to the PSU correctly.

Now these are the things i WOULD LIKE YOU TO TRY.

1. Reset your CMOS. To do this look to your motherboard and you will see a little battery. Take this battery out and leave it out for around 2-5mins. After the allowed time put it back in an reboot your PC. This will now force your BIOS to re-detect all hardware present in your system. Also doing this will reset all BIOS options to default.

2. Scan your PC for infections such as a Virus, Spyware, Adware as they can cause similar issues to this.

3. Do this from my FAQ :

Quote:
CONTINUOUS PERFORMANCE: : To ensure that Windows XP performs at its best all the time you can use the System file checker to locate any missing or damaged system files and replace them. Click on ''Start'' ''Run'' and type exactly WITHOUT quotation marks ''sfc /scannow'' and press ''Enter''.The windows file protection monitor will now scan your entire system for missing or damaged files.Keep your original Windows XP CD at hand as you may be asked for it to replace any missing or damaged files. Other commands that can be used for this step are:

System File Checker Utility (Scan Immediately) sfc /scannow
System File Checker Utility (Scan Once At Next Boot) sfc /scanonce
System File Checker Utility (Scan On Every Boot) sfc /scanboot
System File Checker Utility (Return to Default Setting) sfc /revert
System File Checker Utility (Purge File Cache) sfc /purgecache
System File Checker Utility (Set Cache Size to size x) sfc /cachesize=x
Also check these links for perhaps further help. http://www.overclock.net/faqs/36430-...zer-guide.html
http://www.overclock.net/faqs/40428-...zer-guide.html

Now if anyof this doesnt work i would reccomend a REPAIR install of Windows.

This is simply done by follwoing these steps.
1. Boot up into Windows
2 .Insert a Windows XP install CD
3 .Open it up and from the Menu that appears select install .
4 .Go on and keep pressing Next until it asks fpr a CD key. Once you have done that proceed.

This will replace all damaged OS files . Dont worry all your files shall remain but all settings will be set back to default for Windows.

Sorry you have a valid point. Well have you taken out the Drives booted up into Windows Shut down and then plug the drives back in and boot up and it may detect them in windows again.

First off please watch your language we have children listening

Why wouldnt you be able to boot into windows you didnt mention a problem with your harddrives...

All of the points mentioned are valid assuming the utility can be run from an installed version of windows.

I am assuming only windows has a problem with your dvd drives and that you can detect the drives fine from the bios

i have an update: i fixed it then broke it again though now i know my enemy (what causes me to crash) maybe i can prevent it.

you know when i said my computer crashed when i tried to install my sound drivers? it did it again after i repaired it my booting windows at started up and did a repair.

my sound card is philips ultimate edge PSC724, when i put my disk in the first stage works allright but then the second installation comes in (dunno what that is) and it crashes im worried that this can happen on other software

now i have to repair windows for the second time....
