Nvidia or AMD

Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my EVGA GTX 275 on my gaming rig. I have all of my specs listed in my rig profile. I really dont want to spend more then about 400 bucks and I want to know if I should run a SLI or CrossfireX setup or just buy one beefy card instead. I'm thinking of going with 2 XFX 6870s and i think my 750 watt Rosewill extreme should handle that. But I keep hearing bad things about amd/ati drivers and I have always used Nvida cards. I'm sure everyone has an opinion one way or another, but i am willing to listen all of them. I only use one moniter and want these cards to be capable for the next few years at least. Thnaks

One beefy card is always better than SLI or Crossfire. It only makes sense to buy a second card if you've already got a first tongue.gif

I would take a look at the GTX 570 now the new range has come out as you may get a good price.
If price is not a problem go get a GTX680 and drool happysmiley.gif

ok if I go with a gtx 570 there are 3 ones I'm looking at. If anyone has an idea which is best or has one of these cards, please let me know what you think.

All of the above listed gpus are solid choices. I would even say to look around the OCN market place for a used 580, preferably one with serial based warranty (MSI, etc). You can definitely snag a nice one with your price range. I would say that going with one nice GPU is better than straight into two. I actually had 2x6870 then went to a 580 for better overall experience.

Thanks Nerdybeat, I was wondering about the performance of the 2 6870s and I'll keep an eye out for a good 580 also
