PUSHING THE 960T TO ITS LIMITS ON AIR!

Hey amd brothers and sisters, as you can see, I have a 960T at 3.60ghz on stock voltage.
I want to push it to its limits like 4.0ghz, i have been seeing lots of phenom owners with this clock and im jealous . I own an arctic freezer xtreme rev 2. can I use this cooler to get to 4.0ghz or i should upgrade?

I've gotten the stock four cores on mine to 4.3 @ 1.525v stable, and I normally run at 4050MHz, so 4.0 is still well within the comfort zone with sufficient cooling. I use a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ on my 960T.

i posted in your other thread. but anyway, try these settings for a quick 4GHz for a QUAD.

like i said in the other thread i am not familiar with uefi, so you will have to navigate it and find the following:


- set everything to default
- disable the following - C&E, Turbo, HT, and Cool & Quiet, and Turbo V (if present)
- set your vcore to 1.38v or 1.4v (try 1.38 first)
- raise your Multiplier to 20
- the fsb should be at 200 (this should be set already)
- save and exit.

keep an eye on your temps.

go to the club and further seek help.

Try with the cooler you have and check temps, if they get too high upgrade the cooler

like i said in the other thread i am not familiar with uefi, so you will have to navigate it and find the following:
- set everything to default
- disable the following - C&E, Turbo, HT, and Cool & Quiet, and Turbo V (if present)
- set your vcore to 1.38v or 1.4v (try 1.38 first)
- raise your Multiplier to 20
- the fsb should be at 200 (this should be set already)
- save and exit.
keep an eye on your temps.
go to the club and further seek help.

Hey there, I really appreciate the help! I will do as you mentioned but one more thing, Ive attempted to set the multiplier to 20 but this motherboard wont post for some reason.

i am running 4.0@1.850 vcore and 20x multi on a old zalman 9700 cpns. i hit 50*C in an 80*F room. alot of 960t oc well with once in a while there is a not so oc friendly one.

EDIT: 1.375 vcore. my fault. to many numbers going on at one time.
