PUSHING THE 960T TO ITS LIMITS ON AIR! - Page 3

Yeah. I set is to 2000mhz and it still reports @ 2400mhz. The Auto setting also reports it @ 2400mhz. I dont really know what to do. But I can tell you this. This OC and a Nvidia branded 550ti OCed to 1000/2500 will run bf3 @ 40fps @ 1920x1080 ultra settings. Stock settings on cpu game me right at 20fps. So I have double the fps with a 1ghz OC which I dont believe is that bad. Same thing in most games. My OC basically will double framerate on anygame over stock.

The title says 960t on air. And I just skimmed back through the thread and I dont see him mention bios anywhere.

I have picture of me stressing the cpu, including temperatures
276
EDIT: MAX TEMPERATURE IS 37 DEGREES!

as long as its still below 62C you should be fine with air. I'm trying to do something similiar as well, maybe we can help each other out. I have mine at 3.7 stock voltage stable. Right now im workin on raising my NB frequencies and CPU NB Voltage, once i get those stable, ill be raising my OC to 4.0.
ive tried 3.9 before on stock voltage, but i BSOD.

at 3.7 stock voltage my CPU temps are at 39-41C, Core temps are at 29C, and i am using a hyper 212+. The fan i have on it is an old Dell Optiplex cooling fan (pumps a lot of air, its at 35% power and its spinning at 1900RPM, its loud though but i dont mind) I have a lot of good airflow in my case so i know i can still push my CPU a bit more.

When you do get to 4.0 let me know what your settings are at, ill do the same. I wont lie, i am a little jealous of those running their 960's at 4.0+.

what does the HT link do? do you know? i have mine on auto and i raised my NB freq to 2600, but it automatically raises ht link to same speed as well. whats a good CPU NB VID to have NB freq at 2600? also whats a good one to have on if i raise it to 2800-3000?

thread-jacking in progress :lachen.gif: keep ht link off of auto and set manually..The general consensus is to keep it around 2000
I sometimes set mine to same as cpu/nb..but it caps out @ around 2800
PS..I also set ht link voltage @ 1.25-ish

Hello there my friend!
I don't mind us working together! Apparently your cooler is a better solution than mine, significantly i mean. The arctic cooler freezer xtreme is just big and good looking for nothing. So I have opted and bought a new cooling solution. I went for a water cooling kit. I just ordered it online today for next day delivery. And those temps (39-41c), is that idle or full load. If thats the case then you can try increasing the fsb but watch your ram! Let me know what the temps indicate! biggrin.gif

you should be able to hit 4.1 ghz @1.55v , at least that is my core voltage for 4.1 g's. and my temps are good too. but i am running the chip @3.8 atm on stock volts.

Those temps are under load using prime95. what watercoolin kit did you go for? the Hyper212 for the price (20$) is really good and with that fan that i just added, it just blows all the hot air quick.
i know that changing FSB will change all other frequencies, so should i lower my ram speeds first before i OC the FSB? im still a little scared about changing the FSB. Afraid of blowing out my chip. I tried FSB: 208 once, but my computer started running very unstable (lots of choppiness) so i turned it off. Since im still a noob to OC, im doing this step at a time.
