Seagate Momentus XT (2nd gen) 750GB

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on it, is it good? Its $160, so is the extra 250bg disk and 4gb ssd worth it over the $120 500gb/4gb ssd version? Also is it worth it at all over a normal hdd?

Maybe if you are putting it in a laptop it would seem worth it, but for a desktop and with the falling prices of SSD's i wouldn't buy one right now.
Small wonder.

I would assume you want it for a laptop? If you don't it's not worth it. Seeing all the good deals with SDDs right now you could get a 60-64GB SDD and buy a 500GB for that much almost.

And if you do want it for a laptop I would just wait or get a 120GB SDD. They were ok when they were less than $100 before the price hike.

This is for a desktop. Most reviews are very good (alot better then the 500gb version) so what price is it a good deal? (i could look around and wait for a good one) $130?

Also to the 64 gb ssd and 500 gb hard disk option i am really looking for more space. My 250 gb is filling up fast (and i think failing, it clicks sometimes) and i dont know how long 500 gb would last me. Also, if i get a single drive i can just clone it to that and the lack of head ache alone is worth some $$ to me.

Just look at the market place i bought a really nice 1.5tb caviar black for $100 USD.

And also when cloning the drive it would only take up space the cloned drive used. So like i transferred from my raptor 150gb to the 1.5tb and I have 1.3tb left to use.

I wouldn't get one unless it was for a laptop.
Small wonder.
