3930k NH-D14 Temps

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

have been out of building computers for awhile as my job required me to use a Mac for years, but with a change in software I'm back into using PC's and decided to build my self a setup.

I'm curious to know what kind of temps i should be seeing with my setup at standard clocks, i would love to push it to an even 4ghz but want to make sure temps are safe as it is now.

As the title says I'm using a NH-D14 on a 3930k, idle is around 33/35c with load temps (half hour prime) max 60c on core 6 rest at around 56c. No aircon atm.

Is this average for the setup? seems high but but i'm not use to this proc.

Any light you guys can shed would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers

Moving my computer from the office (all open, pretty crazy building) to home with much better ambient temps moved my idle temps down into mid to high 20's, load temps below 60.Was pretty hot today when i benched it

what about airflow inside te case?

At the moment I just have the two standard fans that came with the 300r, intake at the front exhaust at the back. I have room to add two 120/140mm fans at the top of the case, is this worth while?

4.0 should be manageable without a problem, but you'll have to load it and see. As you add VCore and OC, the wattage really ramps up with this CPU and the heat is unreal.

I run the equivalent Zalman CNPS 12X on 3930k (C2) @ 4.4 ghz 1.31 Vcore. Idles @ 27-31 and under prime 95, intel burn test @ doesn't go over 70. Crunches on WCG @ 58-60. Will try to post some Screen shot when home. So imo, ur temp is 100%

Just got home. Been Crunching for 8+ hours, idle for 1 min to drop to idle temp and ran 20 min of prime 95 @ Large FTT. From different reviews, Zalman 12X = NH D14.

Thanks for taking the time to do some screen grabs, i just did a quick test in RealTempGT. This is the quick Sensor Test, that uses prime.
