I agree. As someone who just loaded 3202, I'm pretty pissed. My video cards now don't work at all (6970s) and i'm getting bluescreens randomly. Completely unacceptable asus. I figured a bios that was posted almost 2 months ago would be stable. Insane.

Its also insane that once you load a bios you cannot go back to the old bios if new one is crappy. Instead you must pay asus $24 for a new bios chip. mad.gif

Curious. I have four of the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro non-Gen3 versions, all at 3202 BIOS, and I'm fine. GTX 680's in SLI, GTX 580's in SLI, HD 7970's in Xfire, and a single GTX 580.

Only thing you can do now is setup the system with just the onboard graphics first. Download and install the updated Intel Management Engine from the Asus website, download the latest ASMedia USB 3.0 driver from the the ASUS ftp site. It is not listed on the http download site and the version number is 1.14.30. The chipset also requires an update from what is on the supplied cd. The latest version is 9.30.1019. However, the download on the http ASUS website doesn't decompress properly when extracted and installed, at least for my board. You can check after installing the chipset by looking at your Windows directory. Where the inf folder should be, you may see a folder named "Intel Chipset Driver V9.3.0.1019 for Windows XP 32bit & XP 64bit & Win7 32bit" If that is the case load the generic chipset from Intel. Hope that helps...

You're a luck man... Must be something to do with Somerville as us Cambridge people always have to fight for what's right including our football title... LOL

If you want the latest driver beside ASMedia USB 3.0 and BIOS, you can download it at respective website. For example Rapid Start, LAN, and chipset driver can be found on Intel download website. Audio diver can be found on Realtek website. You don't need to use Intel MEI, that is for business setup. If you are looking for business setup you even bought the wrong motherboard. Should be looking at B65 or Q67 motherboard instead.

All ASUS did was select a driver, repackage it then put it on its website. Those drivers are no different to Realtek, Intel, or any other respective companies. Even if you engage in class action law suit and won each individual only get tiny portion of compensation.

I simply don't get the big deal behind this.

If the board comes with BIOS 0402 loaded, do not update. In fact, BIOS 3202 is not a standard update. It is a hybrid BIOS makeover to IB SB CPU microcode. In other words, "Ivy Bridge". And it wasn't until i served ASUS did the disclaimer and clarification appear on the http download site along with the updated IME, and chipset drivers. That tells me they knew it was a mistake and didn't give a s***! Like you, i bought 3 of them. I returned the other two unopened. Or you could just refuse delivery right off the bat and save yourself the misery...

this.

why should Asus update all of their product pages when a new driver comes out? They would have to test each driver on every single motherboard they make to make sure its capable and it doesn't corrupt anything. And bios updates are a situation of when it ain't broke leave it alone type of ordeal.
Small wonder.
