I still have not gotten over the part where somebody decided for Kana to use a braided cable instead of PTFE feet and 2 Omron switches.
The cheaper PVC cable would have given the budget for PTFE feet and 2 omron switches, without impacting the overal cost.
So if this would have been really only about margin, that would not cause any impact for that precious calculation.
However I believe this was a careful considered decision, especially if the testers notified them as stated by them.
Basically: What the customers cannot see, they cannot judge.
Microswitch, Feet material - who can judge that? Ask 1000 people, maybe 1 will know?
But ask 1000 ppl about the braided cable...
I think the raw is a much more reasonable decision, if performance is still okay, and if they say goodbye to UPE.
For sure it is possible for this price point, look at other mentioned products.
