To OP -- one thing I do is to count heatpipes. While 4x8mm can carry a lot of heat, 4x6mm is a mid-capacity cooler. To handle hot cpu's you will need 4x8mm or 6x6mm.

Edit -- found the TS140 on Amazon for $40. At that price, there's no contest, if it will fit in your case. Check this out.

I think the only reason these coolers haven't become the value du jour is their limited availability. Well, not so limited as restricted to one supplier: Nan's Gaming, via direct or Amazon. I've dealt with Nan's and they seem on the level (returned a TS-140 when it wouldn't fit my old case, and they gave me a refund with no hassle). FYI shipping is $2 cheaper direct from their site as opposed to Amazon, last I checked.

For cases that can't fit the TS-140, the TS-120 is respectably close in performance. Also at that price you could get a better fan and make it even better, especially considering the good selection of 12cm.

Elohim, do you know if the Venomous boltdown kit fits the TS? I've heard people say it does, but a close look at the TS has me questioning this.

i could try that out. but TR changed the cooler-baseplate for the Macho, TS120/140 compared to their older coolers. The newer one is not as massive and thinner, so i have my doubts. I will have to try it out though.

Thanks for your report on Nan's Gaming -- the non-Amazon link, and the shipping cost. +rep
