Seasonic X660 Gold issue with 12v connector.

So I am putting together a PC with the 660w X series when I notice the 8 pin 12v ATX isn't the same pattern as the port for it on the ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3. Am I missing something here? The connector is opposite at each ends.

It is like this on one end:

On the other end the 4 on the right side have no squares. I have no other connectors with this PSU, anyone able to shine some light on this?

are you talking about the 8 pin cable that goes to the motherboard or the GPU? , the picture you linked looks like a GPU cable, I know on my Seasonic every cable is labeled as to what its intended for.

The connector is listed as:

1 x 4+4 Pin ATX 12V/EPS 12V

So, you're looking for the 8-pin that's split in the middle. That will go to your motherboard 8-pin. The other end should be a solid 8-pin, and that will plug in where it says "CPU" on the power supply. Is this what you have, or no?

Yes I am talking about the CPU cable. It says CPU on one solid end and the other has 2 split 4+4 pins. The solid is the correct pattern of pins, where as the other is 4 correct + 4 "Rounded" (For lack of a better word) pins. So the one side fits in both the PSU and the Mobo, however the 4+4 side doesn't fit in either.

This cable is the one your looking for the picture you linked don't even look like a seasonic cable notice the heatshrink
My CPU cable looks like the one you pictured except for the heatshrink etc the connector is the same as your picture
the one I have pictured is 4+4-double clip on 1 end the other is 8pin single clip

The one I linked isn't the cable I have. I have the seasonic cables (Sheesh give me a little credit tongue.gif ) I just linked it to show the pattern of pins.

The one you have a picture of is the exact same I am talking about. It isn't fitting the motherboard for some reason. The rounded pins are not going into the square pin sockets.

I don't seem to recall having this issue with the 650 I used in my personal pc.

The end with CPU on it goes into the PSU, the other 4+4 end will fit in your mobo. (i have same PSU)
