This are the parts that are going to be used in the build!

This is the main inspiration for the black and gold theme. Very good reviews and in addition it brings a Game Blaster that's using the Creative's Sound Core 3D quad core audio processor.

This is the processor that's going to be used I know it not the top high end thing. But I have done my research and it turns out to be a very good processor better than i7 2600K and 2700K so I'm good.

This is the ram that's going into my build, This ram is 16gb kit running @ 2133Mhz with timings of 9-11-10-27 Quad Channel memory and I'm installing 32Gb of ram.

This is going to be my graphic power for my build. There going to be in a SLI configuration.

Well here it goes. Decide and was requested to do a build log, So I can show my progress with my modification to my Phantom case. Loved it since the first time a laid eye's on it. My wife gave it to me as a X-mas present a year ago.

When I saw the sheer size of it love it, The space and looks just was something out of the ordinary.

I decided to make some changes to my Phantom to make it look more sexy more eye catching .

The Hardware to be used is:

Intel Sandy Brigde -E 3820 quad core

Asrock X79 Extreme6/GB

Gskill Ripjaws Z @ 2133Mhz 32Gb

BFG 1000w PSU

Western Digital 1Tb hard drive

Corsair H80 Hydro cooler

I'll start off with this picture showing how i had my PC before deciding to mod it.

As you can see, Even tho the Phantom has cable management I sucked at it.

He got tired of waiting, so he went to sleep.

Next up is the NZXT 200mm Fan that came in the case, This fan has 4 LED's. But noticed that there is 4 additional holes for lights so I'm going to put those to use.

Ahh, clever man... not too much gold. One common mistake a few people make. Colours like Gold, Chrome, Silver and Platinum... should be used in moderation. If done right, looks better than you could ever imagine, and I do believe that's what I'm seeing here. Kudos!

Also good to see you're using a more of a matte gold... not an overly shiny chrome-like reflection. Will be looking forward to the end result.

yeah I was trying to keep the design of the Phantom. I like modding but I want to keep the features implemented when they created it. I want to elevate and show the fine details already givin by NZXT.

And like the saying goes Sometimes less is more !

That's how I see it... when modding cases that are pre-built, I try to build or enhance the case's concept while keeping the original design elements as intact as much as possible. When I do scratch builds though... whole new playing field there lol.

Edit: I just saw a post of yours on another log, "Subbed"... Lol. Putting the new lingo to use already are we?

It's not that hard. This is my first time. you just have to be dedicated and know what u want.

If you don't know google it. the internet is your friend. And yes the phantom venom was my motivation to do this!

At first I thought 'Gold in a pc? That's going to be tacky...'

THEN, I saw the pictures, and it looks classy and well performed

Looking forward to the rest of the build

Finished the fans. not bad it's looking good here's a couple of picture's my work on them.

These are the wires that I got from my local electronic shop. bought 2 thinking i was going to need it. Ended up using only 2 wires of the 4 the pack brings, 1 for the fan LED's and 1 for the power supplied to the LED's.
450

Here is the Fan a bought , this fan came with out any LED's and I noticed that it had the same connections as the original fan that had LED's so I started experimenting to see if I can put LED's on it. So here it goes.
450

450

450

And for the people that want to remove the fan to paint it this is what you need to remove to able to pull the fan out of its base. Be careful not to brake it.
