Jrabb's right, chip giants like Intel and AMD can't exactly wake up and find themselves being beaten to death and then turn around in a week and be on top again, it just doesn't work that way. Generally when one side takes the lead it can take 1-2 years or even more for the previous king to step it up again, Intel is seriously getting leaps and bounds ahead of AMD though, if they keep going AMD may not catch up for a long time.

And, I TOLD YOU! lol, way back when the Athlons were the biggest thing I was saying that Intel would be back soon enough and stayed loyal and just look what's happening. as I said way back before C2D hit, AMD had its time to shine and its time will surely come again, but right now, its Intel's time in the sun.

If what is reported is correct, this sounds pretty ominous for AMD. I acknowledge that the CPU performance crown is passed between Intel and AMD with each having it for some years, but this looks like Intel is trying (and succeeding) in out-innovating AMD. It is almost like Intel are trying to get so far ahead, that AMD just won't be able to keep up, let-alone surpass Intel’s offerings. I genuinely hope AMD will remain in the game and come back to produce something even better than Intel. If it weren't for AMD, Intel most likely wouldn't be innovating at the rate they currently are. AMD are good for Intel and visa-versa.

Come on AMD!! Give Intel something to worry about!

AMD's not going anywhere. They own ATI, and some other companies, so they'll stay alive.

Intel's finally doing something right again and I think that's good of them. Not only that, but they've stuck with LGA775 for quite a while now. Not forcing us to buy a new motherboard everytime we want a good cpu, good job intel, furthermore they even have motherboards that support overclocking now.

I really believe that this is one of the reasons AMD picked up ATI is to counter the fact that they don't have the resources currently to match Intel in R&D and production capacities. They are just going to keep making very very respectably designed chips and then couple them with ATI based boards and there will be your performance make up for Intel. Lets remember that AMD hasn't even had a chance to rebuttle c2d yet and details are still very sketchy about torrenza and k8l. So we know that as usual Intel is exerting thier powers afforded them by thier resources to come to the table with new chips and die sizes but AMD hasn't said much yet so ill let them talk a little first before I bury them yet. My question is where did AMD go? No rumors, no leaks no buzz at all. Why are they all of a sudden being so secretive and quiet? What are they working on?
